FOCUS Grand Rapids Men’s Breakfast & Work Day

The FOCUS GR Ministry Center/Shepherds of Independence is hosting an Orthodox Men’s Breakfast & Workday on Saturday, May 16. Men from all GR-area Orthodox parishes are invited and encouraged to attend.

This will be a day rooted in fellowship and service—beginning with a shared meal and continuing with hands-on work caring for the grounds of a ministry that serves our neighbors in need. It’s a meaningful way for men across our parishes to come together, build relationships, and offer something tangible in love.

Details:

  • 1400 Morgan St NW, Grand Rapids
  • Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 AM
  • Breakfast and fellowship: 9:00 – 10:00 AM
  • Outdoor work: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Lunch served: 12:00 – 1:00 PM
  • Flexible participation—men are welcome to come for part or all of the day
What to Bring:

We’ll be working outdoors, including wooded areas, so please dress accordingly. Long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy work boots are recommended. Bug repellent and work gloves are also helpful.

If you are able, please consider bringing tools such as:

  • Rakes, wheelbarrows, or garden wagons
  • Chainsaws, pole saws, or loppers
  • Spades and shovels

We may not have enough tools for everyone, so anything brought will help ensure we can all work effectively.
